Act Sky Fest 2015 (Day 3), Hyderabad

Pregnant Women, Newly wedded couple, young and old among the thousands visit ACT Fibernet Skyfest 2015. The fest has been witnessing the steady stream of visitors. On 3rd day of the fest, Christmas evening on Friday well over 20,000 people visited ACT Fibernet Skyfest. Well over 5000 alone witnessed Devi Sri Prasad Concert, which was a huge hit. Singers Geetha Madhuri, Sravana Bhargavi, Santhosh and Sagar performed opening acts before Rockstar, DSP took the stage by storm.

The music director who scored a huge musical hits put people on rocking. His concert lasted for well over two and half hours, engaged audience with his all time hit numbers. They yelled, danced till they exhausted.

ACT Fibernet Skyfest 2015, the biggest ever fund rising activity held in the city in recent past has become now talk of the town. The proceeds of the Fest will be used for Sparsh Hospice, which has been providing palliative care to terminally ill patients for the past 7 years. It has been offering free services to the patients and their families. It is one of its kind of services in India. It is the initiative of Rotary Club of Banjara Hyderabad.

Hundreds of people who worked for the fest have put in together a fantastic show. The support extended by the Government of Telangana for the success of the ACT Fibernet Sky Fest 2015 is unprecedented.

The show has many firsts to its credit. It has offered to the people of city the first time experience of Hot Air Balloon Ride, both safari(long ride) and joy ride. Hundreds of people have utilized this unique opportunity.

It is for the first time, at least in our city people got an opportunity to witness Para Jumping thanks to the Ministry of Defence, who has readily agreed to the request of Chandrashekhar Rao, Chief Minister. Akash Ganga team of the Indian Air Force team has put up an excellent show. Para Jumping events mostly happen at Government functions. But, there were several instances like Mysore Dussehra festival and others where Para Jumping and Sky Jumping Acts were performed by Akash Ganga. It was the second time at Gachibowli in city such a feat is being organised for public view. It was at Afro Asian Games, we have performed this act first in city, informed Ft Lt Rahul Jha, team leader of IAF's Akash Ganga.

The Para Jumping venue was shifted on Friday from inside the stadium to open air venue for good. People on Friday had better view of the dare devil act of sky jumping by 7 IAF’s Akash Ganga Pilots.

Carnival experience is again new thing to the city. Many who are on foreign visits experienced this. But, this is something new to the many in the city. The entire street is decked up to give look and feel of carnival experience together with several carnival artists performances.

Midnight Cinema which is scheduled every day night at 10.30pm is something city has not seen before. Three films Bahubali Hindi, Dil Dhadakne Do, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari have been screened till date and two more Bajrangi Bhai Jaan and Srimanthudu are to be screened today and tomorrow. What is so surprising is the enthusiasam people have shown in watching them. Underred by the cool winter weather, there are many takers of these movies at such a late in the night. Nearly 750 people watched midnight movie Dil Dhadakne Do and almost similar number watched yesterday.

Some of the adventure sports again were a huge hit with kids. All terrain bike, Archery, Bottle Shooting, Rope Diving etc have been a huge hit with the visitors.

Hundreds of youth have been taking part in college dance competitions.

Pootharekulu a popular sweet from Atreyapuram has witnessed good response. Live making of this sweet caught on well with the visitors. The ‘Paper sweets’ as they give the appearance of folded paper has been the most favourite dish i saw many people seen trying said Rakesh, a visitor on Friday. We know this sweet for very long time. We also read lot about Atreyapuram, village which is famous for the sweets. But, this was the first time i have witnessed live making of these sweet, informed Sravanthi, another visitor. Like Sravanthi, there were many takers of wafer-like sweet delicacy at the fest.

Fast foods like Dominos, Pap Jones, Potato Roles, Potato Spring Roles are some other eatables well explored at the fest.

A ride on all terrain bikes, Tandum bicycle, Automatic skates, Roller Balance, Fairy Wing Act too were most favourites of lot of visitors. A two Seater Bicycle Built for Two offered an excellent bike ride experience. There were many like father and son, mother and daughter, father and daughter, boy friend and girl friend, couples enthusiastically seen trying them. They were made available at fest by Cykul who provided them on hire for Rs 150/- for half an hour. The tandem bicycle or twin bicycle is a form of bicycle designed to be ridden by more than one person.

Tomorrow Sunday is the last day of the five day ACT Fibernet Sky Fest 2015. The day will be packed with regular activities plus Teenmar Night Live of RP Patnaik and so many other attractions.
