Whether you want to work abroad, or are just interested in learning more about international business, advertising and sales promotion, it has become the need of the hour to increase our understanding of the world and prepare for work in a global marketplace, to become strong, competitive and leaders of tomorrow.
The departments of International Business and Advertising and Sales Promotion of Villa Marie organized a vivid international trade fair, "The Concurrence" where imagination and minds unite. Students displayed great leadership and team work skills as they spanned the entire area of Hyderabad, to bring the hidden traders and skills of India to the limelight. The two departments collaborated, under the adept guidance of the faculty, to make this fair a success. The trade fair showcased no less than 50 stalls with products ranging from handmade jute bags to modern footwear and suits. The traders were advertised around the city for free by the students to popularize the products in the flourishing market. The tickets for the event were released on , followed by the inauguration of the press meet. Barter, the pigeon representing exchange of value, was also finalized as a worthy mascot for the Concurrence. The inauguration finale was held at Taj Deccan on 20th November, 2015
A unique feature of the Concurrence is that it was organized with the selfless motive of bringing the lesser known trades and handicrafts of India to the frontlines. The Concurrence was also an excellent event to have witnessed unity in diversity of our country, en masse.
All the activities involved were related to the subjects on International Business and Advertising, giving the students a chance to put their textual knowledge into practice.
The event was graced by the presence of Honorable Principal Dr. Philomena, who was instrumental in the success of the event and the Chief Guest, Mr. Kalvakunthla Taraka Rama Rao, the Cabinet Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT, Telangana State, who is ever interested in student initiatives and applauds their collective efforts.
Villa Marians are known to leave a lasting impression wherever they go. As it has been rightly said, there is no real ending. It is just the beginning.
