DEEP MELA 2014 - DEEPSHIKHA MAHILA CLUB Annual Fund Raising Exhibition
Deep Mela 2014 inaugurated by Mrs. Pinky Reddy on 18th July 2014, 11.AM at HITEX, at hall no.3, Kondapur, Hyderabad.
Deep Mela is organized by Deepshikha Mahila Club, a city based women's philanthropic organization, established in 1965, with a glorious history of 50 years. This annual event is a shopper's delight with over 20000 visitors and over 220 stalls. It is being held in the popular venue, “Hitex” located in Kondapur, Hyderabad on 18th, 19th, 20th July 2014.
Deep mela 2014 will showcase an array of traditional and trendy clothing, handcrafted homeware, Traditional and contemporary jewelry, unique rakhies etc. As always, Deepmela will be promoting new designers and upcoming entrepreneurs.
Deep mela is a “FUN DAY OUT” for its visitors with all the wonderful shopping being complemented by an extensive, yet quality Food Court.
Deepmela cares deeply about the environment and has made the use of eco friendly bags compulsory. Deepshikha Mahila Club is dedicated to the cause of social, financial and educational assistance to the weaker sections of the society. The club, with strength of about 150 members, adopted the “Kanya Gurukul High School” at Ameerpet, Hyderabad, where free education is imparted to 900 students in Telugu and English. It also runs a Deepshikha Vocational Junior College at an Intermediate level which trains about 125 students. This year the club has adopted “MAHILA DAKSHITA DEEPSHIKHA B.Sc. NURSING COLLEGE”, a nursing college in Chandanagar. We are raising funds to construct the building and it will be functional shortly. Deepshikha Mahila Club looks forward to any sponsorship and support for this big project.
Deepshikha has always come forward to help causes i.e. heart surgery for the underprivileged children (6), or extending support to the families affected by Tsunami - funding their rehabilitation (100 families), or sending help to the soldiers at the “Front” at the Kargil -War, providing Artificial Limbs to more than 100 physically challenged people, or Rehabilitation of Flood affected weavers of Andhra Pradesh. The proceeds from Deep Mela goes towards running the above projects and other charitable activities.
Deepshikha Mahila Club is a tight knit family. Each member takes personal interest and invests a lot of time and effort into the planning, making Deepmela successful in achieving the Club's goals.
