The Best of Indian Cinema Film Festival 2014 by Doordarshan

The Best of Indian Cinema Film Festival 2014 was hosted by the Doordarshan here in Hyderabad on the 12th and 13th July 2014 where many film lovers, film institute students and media were part of the event.
During this two day fest six internationally acclaimed films “KHARGOSH” (Hindi), “ORUTHTHI” (Tamil), “YENNING AMADI LIKLA” (Manipuri) were screened where all the said film directors Paresh Kamdar, Amshan Kumar, Makhonmani Mongsaba were present to interact with the audiences. As part of the programme a quiz was conducted where the winners were awarded with exciting prizes.
Anitha Sinha, Addnl Director General (ADG) of Doordarshan National while talking to the media said the response was tremendous and encouraging to see such good participation from film lovers, students of media institutions and co-operation from the media.
The Best of Indian Cinema is the 2nd film festival by Doordarshan hosted in Hyderabad after Delhi. She further said “Doordarshan being a public service broadcaster is now competing with top channel at the National and all regional levels. On receiving such good response, we hope to take BIC to other cities as and come back to Hyderabad too.
M. Sailaja Suman, DDG of Doordarshan Hyderabad thanked the media for promoting the event. She said “It’s a rare opportunity to have the directors when their films are screened in the film festivals that too when are messaged oriented and interact with the audiences. The interaction sessions have been very informative and educative as the media students were excited to know the stories behind the scripts and learn varied film techniques. Doordarshan is planning to host many such film festivals across the country. She concluded thanking all the participants for making this two day event a grand success.
