Hues of Destiny - An Event by IIMA Alumni Association Hyderabad
IIM Ahmedabad Alumni association is hosting a painting exhibition ‘Hue of Destiny’ by renowned female activist and artist Ms. Shakuntala Patade. The exhibition is aimed at raising fund for the social activities which includes supporting city based Udbhav School run by IIM Ahmedabad Alumni Hyderabad.
About the Artist
Ms. Shakuntala Patade affectionately called “Shakutai”, is an octogenarian self-taught based in Pune who has dedicated herself for supporting women causes like trafficking, female foeticide etc. Born to a well-known artist and social activist from Pune, she started painting late, at the age of 40 The interesting part is she never learned painting however while working as a teacher in Mumbai women issues inspired her resume this creative journey. Her work has seen as a weapon to raise awareness on these issues. Last 5 decades she has express her anger as well as hopes through her painting which were sold in India as well as abroad
A beautiful short film on her life and work called “desire of the Moth” inspires many.
