Indradhanush: Bhavan's Vivekananda College Yuva Mahotsav 2013 (Day 2)

YUVA MAHOTSAV 2013 (DAY-2)

The second phase of Yuva Mahotsav started at 10 am, the first event being Solo Singing (light) on the Vivek Bharati stage. The participants sung songs from films belonging to the era of the 1950s & 1970s.The event helped in rejuvenating the life of evergreen songs.

The Group Singing event conducted at 11 am was based on patriotic songs. The performers created an atmosphere of nationalism among the students. It stressed on the spirit to die for one’s country.

The off- stage events started with Nail art & Mehendi competitions featuring a wide variety of designs. The highlight of the Mehendi competition was the Arabic and Indian designs.

“Artificial flower making” and the “Best out of waste” events were held simultaneously in the bio-chemistry corridor .Participants displayed flowers made out of paper crush and waste cloth.

The Antakshari competition was held in MBA block seminar hall II at around 11am. All the contestant had to go through 5 difficult rounds. The participants had to sing songs from both Hindi & Telugu.

The Fashion Show event was conducted on the Vivek Bharati stage at 1:30pm. The students represented hit pairs of Indian cinema. The concept received many “wows “from the audience and they enjoyed it thoroughly. The participants had to do a ramp walk and answer the question asked by the judges.

The last event for the evening was the Group Dance competition which was on the Vivek Bharti stage respectively. The theme was to dedicate an act to any actor or actress. The event was much awaited by the students .One of the dance group brought out the life spent by the jawans on the border, by spending lonely nights far from family, patrolling on the border, always remain awake so that other Indians could sleep in peace.

Yuva mahotsav ke aanthim din mein hum sabhi chatron ko yeh ehsas hua ki , hum sab Bhavans ke dil mein baste hai, is college se ek apnapan ka rishta juda hua hai . En do dino mein hum jo kuch bhi seekh paye hai , vo humare mann aur dil dono mein sama gaya hai.
