International Yoga Day Celebrations at Raahgiri Day

The Raahgiri, a joint initiative of TSIIC(Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation), Happening Hyderabad, Cyberabad Traffic Police, EMBARQ and IdentCity today celebrated World Raahgiri Day and World Music Day, Fathers Day and Skate Board Day.

Regardless of rain or not, people in large numbers thronged to participate in World Yoga Day, Skateboard Day, Fathers Day and Music Day. The June 21st is more special for many reasons. It is also observed as the THE YEAR’S LONGEST DAY.

Raahgiri Celebrated Yoga Day in association with Isha Foundation, Reebok and Art of Living. This was celebrated in the presence of Mr. C.V. Anand Commissioner—Cyberabad Police; Ganesh Bigala, MLA, Nizamabad and Ramesh Loganathan, President HYSEA. C.V. Anand participated in Yoga lessons session conducted by Isha Foundation.

Speaking about Yoga and its importance C.V. Anand said Yoga is very good for overall health. It is a practice which controls an individual's mind, body and soul. Get involved more into Yoga to lead active lifestyle he said.

Speaking further on the occasion C.V.Anand said Raahgiri is a street event, which provides citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets, connect with their community. We want to make Hyderabad the most happening day. Cyberabad Police are trying their best to provide as many spaces as possible to connect with community. I am happy Raahgiri Day has been the most looked after event every Sunday.

Skateboarders all over the world celebrate June 21st as Skateboard Day. Raahgirians celebrated the pure exhilaration, creativity. Skateboarders do this every day of their lives, but this is just one more reason. C.V. Anand did the skateboard for a while and encouraged others to do.

CV Anand went around 1.2 kms stretch from Raheja Mind Space to Bio Diversity Park. He bicycled, played few street games like Spinning Top. His presence encouraged many Raahgirians, who frequent Raahgiri every Sunday. He mixed up with the crowd, obliged for photographs.

After seeing the success of initiatives like Raahgiri, we would like to observe every Thursday as “CAR FREE THURSDAY”, in the IT Zone of the Cyberabad. This initiative will be kicked off from July 23rd, he informed while interacting with the press on the sidelines of the media. “She Shuttle” service, a two private bus services will be introduced on June 29th for the commutation of women IT employees in the Cyberabad iT corridor, C.V Anand informed.

Ganesh Bigala, Nizamabad MLA said, initiative like Raahgiri is the most sought after. Today my family brought me here to celebrate father’s day. I have come here with my wife and chidren and Mahesh Bigala, a NRI said Ganesh Bigala.

Valmiki Foundation brought about 40 kids to help them understand what the Yoga is all about. As usual, the regulars of the Raahgiri, some of whom addicted to Raahgiri on every Sunday and also bicycling enjoyed nice climate pedaling all around 1.2 kms stretch of Raahgiri.
