Hyderabad, September 1, 2013: The city has discovered a new dancing star on Sunday evening, as Sallithi Reddy - the student of Padma Bhushan awai dees Dr. Raja and Radha Reddy Kaushalya Reddy and yam in i Reddy, performed the classical Kuchipudi dance at Ravincira Bharati.
Sahiti Reddy, the young and beautiful artist, set a graceful beginning of the dance recital with a prayer to the gods; following the footsteps of her gurus who designed the program with propitiation to Lord Ganesha to remove all obstacles and for the success of the show.
Living up to the true meaning of Rangapravesam (Ranga means "Stage" and Pravesam means "Entry"), Sahiti debut performance elated the audience which included SOITIQ well known artists and eminent personalities of Hyderabad. Sahiti's entry was with the first element lathiswaram" which is a tapestry of 'Tune Beats' and 'Melodious' notes that are given visual form in this item of pure dance (Nritta). Her attractive movements of the eyes, eyebrows, neck and captivating footwork patterns created a new world of ecstasy though there were no words to convey any meaning in this item and the dance was utterly preformed in synchronization with the musical notes.
Her next item "Ashtapadi; Nija Gadh" was presented very elegantly by Sahiti as she rose to the fullest extent performing the eight steps in-tune with the rhyme that symbolizes the eternal love of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha.
The hour long Kuchipudi extravaganza which was choreographed by Padma Bhushan Raja and Radha Reddy in typical Kuchipudi classical dance style, was concluded with "Arabhi" describing the beauty of Krishna as the embodiment of eternal bliss and with Sahiti executing brilliantly the intricate footwork patterns on the rim of a brass plate towards the end of the fantastic show.
Delighted with her debut performance, Sahiti Reddy expressed her feeling by saying, "Dance has always had u special place in my heart. As a child every time 1 would hear music! would find my body swaying subconsciously to the rhythm. Since the time l have taken up Kuchipudi dance, it has brought out so many positive aspects that helped me in becoming who I am today,"
"Now that I wig be mcpping on stage as a dancer in my own right, I hope I UM able to do justice to all the work ntv gurus have put into me and make them proud. Most importantly carry on this great tradition of Kuchipudi dance that they have handed to me" she further added.
