MCEME Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
The Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) family commemorates its 60 years of 'Knowledge Enablement' of the human resource of the Corps of EME; a journey that commenced in 1953 with the move of this elite institution from Kirkee to Secunderabad. MCEME has since grown from strength to strength to become an epitome of professional excellence of the Indian Army. The remarkable achievements of the College are a true reflection of the professionalism/diligence, motivation and selfless dedication of all ranks who have served here, and the acumen and visionary leadership at the helm of affairs. We salute them all.
Health Run
A 'Health Run', starting at 0600 hrs on 14 July in the pristine and beautiful environs of Secunderabad Military Station, is the curtain raiser of the MCEME Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The 'Health Run' seeks to inculcate among the participants a habit of physical fitness and ignite the spirit of competitiveness. A 5-km route is for serious runners and a 2-km one for the dilettantes. Over 5000 participants across the 05-80 years age group are participating in the event. Prizes will be given to the top five runners in the 5-km category and the top 5 women runners in the 2-km category. Many international sports persons and celebrities are associated with the event, including tennis star Sania Mirza, cricketer WS Laxman, PV Sindhu (India'sNo 2 women's badminton player), K Srikanth (winner of the 2013 Thailand Open Badminton Championship), Jwala Gutta (international badminton player), Ram Charan Teja (Telugu movie star) and Upasana Kaminenl (Movie star and Ram Charan Teja's wife).
