ART finds its Soulmate

The painting series by Priyanka Poogalia on women empowerment and human relations kick starts 10 great appreciation from art lovers

16th June, 2013: In the light of today's atrocities against women, artist Priyanka Poogalia showcased her collection of paintings on women empowerment, human relations and inner wallets. The exhibition kick started with art lovers from across the city gracing the occasion and pouring accolades on the paintings and the artist for coming up with such a novel ideal in the wake of present scenario. Priced at a very affordable price range of 1,000 to 35,000, the paintings received orders not just from the art loving fraternity but also from the common women who walked in to the launch. The artist specializes in charcoal on canvas, something very rare to the common eye.

The art exhibition is being held in association with NARMY, an NGO fighting for social cause of women empowerment. NARMY stands for NATURE'S ARMY. The president of NARMY, Mr. Kiran was seen actively involved in the exhibition and educating young art lovers about the cause. A couple of young actors graced the occasion including RVJ BHARATH, known for his lead role in the recent telugu flick RACE and his role as a geek in ROUTINE LOVE STORY. "Its always special when mediums such as paintings and films are used to promote women empowerment. The moment I was approached vrith the idea of supporting the cause, I felt privileged to be actively involved in the cause. The painting are marvelous, especially the use of charcoal on canvas and the thought process is just worth applauding", added RVJ BHARATH. SHRAVYA REDDY, NRI movie fame was also seen supporting the cause. A couple of other names from the film fraternity were also seen engaging themselves in the cause.

"My forte is contemporary figurative and abstract art. My favorite medium for my paintings is charcoal on handmade paper and acrylic on canvas. I truly believe, when charcoal takes form of art it magically transforms into diamond", Priyanka Poogalia told the media.
The exhibition is being held at POECILE ART GALLERY and is on till 23I-d June. ABOUT THE ARTIST:"Born in April 1976 in the picturesque state of Rajasthan, I graduated in clothing and textiles from M S University Vadodara. I worked as a freelance -Consultant for different NGOs in the field of women empowerment. My stint with NGOs working with women left a lasting impression in my mind and heart. Art has always been my first love and as a result destiny brought me back to the brush. / decided to seriously pursue it which even the lucrative corporate background, could not deter. I started Arts from heart and entered into the professional league of contemporary artists."—

About Priyanka Poogalia:

Life is an amalgamation of shades of experience, colors of imagination and impressions of our action and reaction.

My work at NGO, dedicated to the cause of women left lasting impressions in my life. I chose canvas and brush to express my experiences of life, its celebrations and struggles.

Nothing represents spectrum of life wider than womanhood. Essences of all expressions – Love, Hate, Dedication, and Deceit – that a woman represent, makes the soul of my art work. In-depth knowledge of fabric and textures, acquired as a textile graduate coupled with subject as deep as woman has positioned me to showcase depth in my paintings. Deeper reflection at my work will reveal subtle nuances and provide insight into soul of the painting.
