About lkebana: Ikebana is a traditional art form of Japan which involves the creative arrangement of flowers, branches and leaves in various combinations. The arrangements conform to certain rules and are asymmetrically shaped closely resembling nature. They are graceful and rhythmic with beautiful lines. lkebana came into origin with the introduction of Buddhism to Japan more than 600 years ago. The art form evolved from mere offerings of flowers to Buddha in temples at the altar, to many styles and schools. Each school has its own specific theories and principles. Practicing Ikebana helps one to create a bond with natural surroundings, become patient, quiet and tolerant and inspires to appreciate all other art forms.

About lkebana International Hyderabad Chapter # 250:
lkebana International Hyderabad Chapter was founded in 1997 by Grandmaster Horyu Meena Ananthnarayan and was chattered in 1999 with 20 members. The membership now stands at 66 with Ms. Uma Chigurupati as the President Members meet every month over interesting workshops, exhibitions, Japanese culture programmes and Ind° Japanese fusion events and more The members work hard at promoting lkebana, spreading the awareness of nature and environmental issues.

Mini Ikebana Exhibition with Dry & Fresh Flowers & Foliage: Keeping the summer season in mind an lkebana workshop is being organized as a monthly program for members on 15 March 2013 at President Ms. Uma Chigurupati's residence. Members will be doing creative Ikebana arrangements using a variety of dry and fresh material of flowers and foliage available in their gardens. The workshop will be a visual treat to the eye as each member is going to display a different creative form of lkebana arrangement. Using Dry Material:

"Dry material which normally people think as waste and thrown away is used in an artistic manner and creating beautiful lkebana arrangements will be seen in this mini exhibition."
