Telenor Group President and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas launches the Uninor Ki Goonj campaign in Andhra Pradesh
Uninor will continue to be “Sabse Sasta” in Andhra Pradesh
~22,000 new retailers and additional network sites will be added to further strengthen operations in the state~
Hyderabad, November 30, 2012. Telenor Group President and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas met customers and retailers in the market to launch the Uninor Ki Goonj campaign in Andhra Pradesh today. The campaign was launched to celebrate the winning back of spectrum in the circle. All Uninor customers, employees and business partners will be seamlessly transferred to the new company that has licenses to operate for another 20 years in the Andhra Pradesh circle.
Uninor will also invest further in its operations in the circle. The company will add an additional 22,000 retailers to its 53,000 strong retail network in Andhra Pradesh within the year 2013. Additional network sites will also be added to further strengthen the network coverage across the region.
“I extend our gratitude to the millions of subscribers in Andhra Pradesh that have chosen Uninor and stayed with us during the months of uncertainty. Those uncertainties are now behind us and I am confident that we will be able to continue our success by offering affordable mobile telephony in the future,” said Jon-Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO of the Telenor Group.
Uninor customers can save as much as 63% on Unlimited Local On-net calls compared to any other operator in AP. Uninor is the most affordable mobile service available in Andhra Pradesh today. The company announced that Uninor will continue to offer tariffs that are cheaper than any other mobile operator in the state.
“Uninor customers in Andhra Pradesh are already saving Rs. 12 crores each month by being on our cheapest tariffs. I am delighted to announce that these savings will now continue. We have secured licenses for 20 years and our plan will not change. Uninor will continue to offer the cheapest tariffs among all to its customers in Andhra Pradesh,” said Sigve Brekke, MD of Uninor and Head of Telenor Group’s Asia operations, while accompanying a 300 strong Uninor team into the market.
As a part of the Uninor Ki Goonj campaign, Uninor employees and partners will meet customers and retailers in the market. The roadshows will see drums and conches used to announce the continuation of Uninor’s “Sabse Sasta” war cry in the market. Retailers will be congratulated with ‘blue tilaks’ and employees will participate in road shows across the state.
