Hyderabad, September 8, 2012: Vodafone India Ltd., one of India’s leading Telecommunications service providers, today showcased the exact replica of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing car at Inorbit Mall, Hitech City in Hyderabad. The car, which is similar to the one driven by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, was unveiled by Srinath Nalluri, Head Vodafone Business Services, Andhra Pradesh and will on display in the mall till September 9. The car was earlier showcased at DLF IT Park, Gachibowli, from 5-7 Sept, 2012
Speaking about the initiative, Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Business Head - Andhra Pradesh, Vodafone India said, "Leveraging our global association, we are proud to bring the exact replica of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing car to our customers in Hyderabad. This is in line with our customer connect program where we are always on the lookout for avenues to create and provide a fun and differentiated experience for our customers. We expect that this initiative will provide an opportunity for the motor racing enthusiasts to get up close and personal with the car".
While the racing enthusiasts in Hyderabad are gearing up for the second season of the much awaited motor racing event to be held at Delhi, in October 2012, they get a chance to see and click pictures with the car during this weekend. The average speed of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing car is 246km per hour, while it can attain a speed from 0 to 96 km in just 2.3 seconds.
International F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will be racing the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car at Mumbai’s picturesque Marine Drive on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Prior to the activity at the Inorbit Mall, Vodafone India had engaged with the corporate fraternity by showcasing the car at DLF IT Park, Gachibowli. Enterprises at these parks were given a chance to see and click pictures with the car.
Recently, Vodafone India, in order to make significant in-roads into the small and medium business community and to give then a platform for easier path of growth, announced the launch of second season of Vodafone Drive into the Big League. This initiative gives one lucky SME, the opportunity to take center stage with their logo on the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes cars at the 2ndIndian Grand Prix. The contest drew 270,000 responses from SMEs across India. One of the qualifying rounds for an entry into the Grand Finale will be held at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh on 12th September 2012.
