St. Francis College has been in the forefront of women’s education since 1929, offering wholesome holistic education at the Degree and Post graduate levels. The college is an autonomous college of Osmania University. It has been accredited and reaccredited at ‘A’ level by National Assessment and accreditation Council, and also granted the status of college with potential for Excellence by the University Grants Commission of India.
The science departments have a club called Spectrum which through its innovative activities makes science interesting and exciting. As planned St. Francis College presents Constellation’12, an intercollegiate fest as a part of spectrum activity for the year 2012.
Constellation’12 aims to provide students with activities to gain basic research & developmental knowledge, as well as to nurture a curious and active mind that is needed not only in the field of science, but in every field of study in the world. It seeks to bring out the scientist in students, fuel their minds with questions that need answers, and strives to broaden the boundaries of science.
Constellation ’12 also aspires to turn heads by proving that science can be fun! The gravity of scientific principles can only be understood and appreciated when it is transmitted in an energizing and enjoyable format. The fest has events for every person’s niche: from theme dance and quizzes, through treasure hunt to plate master and many more.
The Chief Guest for the event is Professor Shankar, Head, Department of Mathematics, Osmania University. The Theme Dance Competition is judged by popular choreographers Srinath Muthyala and Nirmesh Gollamandala, Ram’s Step Up Dance Company, a food presentation competition judged by Dr. Latha Sashi, Consultant Nutritionist, Fernandez Hospital. Radio City 91.1 FM with R.J Shashi is broadcasting the event live from Campus.
The student who comes up with novel experiments, creative ideas and individuality will be awarded ‘The Scientist of the Day’, and the most enthusiastic participating college will be honored as the ‘Best College’.
Students of 60 colleges in the twin cities have been invited.
