BloodConnect organized Blood Donataion Awareness session at Raahgiri
Hyderabad, June 14......Raahgiri Day Hyderabad went on in-spite of rains. Large number of people turned up as usual at Raahgiri on Sunday. BloodConnect, a youth run organization conduced awareness session on the occasion International Blood Donation Day today at Raahgiri in city at Biodiversity Park at Gachibowli.Several youth, IT professionals pledged their support to donate blood.
According to WHO data, India faces a shortage of 3 million blood units. This shortage can easily be eliminated if only an additional 2% of India's youth donates blood. To make this possible, BloodConnect acts as a channel connecting voluntary blood donors with those who need blood. It is a youth-run organization and provides free help and specially works to target the poor and the needy.
Since its inception, the organization has grown a lot in terms of working for this cause. BloodConnect has developed a 360 degree solution to the problem of blood shortage.
Also noteworthy on this Sunday is local community got involved in the street game, the Spinning top or Lattu which was once the most popular street game of India. It is still played in some of the inner colonies of rural areas. Thanks to introduction of Spinning Top, lot of construction workers in nearby places also joined the main stream IT and Urban folks to enjoy at Raahgiri. Sipping Top or Lattu is part of the life for children in India
A School band was also performed at Raahgiri.
Much to the surprise of the organizers, nearly 2000 people have attended the Raahgiri on Sunday in-spite of the rains. They not only visited but actively bicycled, participated in regular yoga, fitness, dance activities.
