Arthashastra - 2012 has adopted a youth centric theme and thus the name “Yuva”. Yuva aims at highlighting the important role that the youth play in building this nation. It focuses on the youth of today- the leaders of tomorrow. Be it governance, entrepreneurship, social responsibility or corporate leadership, the youth is entering every field intrepidly, and making a mark. Not just that, the impact of the youth in the field of innovation and a revival of fine arts and culture too will be depicted. Social Networking and Social Causes, and the integration of the two by the youth are another aspect that will be explored. The two facets- the growth in the last few years, as well as what the youth should be doing in thefuture are going to be presented in ARTHASHASTRA 2012.
The Commerce Organization for Emerging Entrepreneurs (COFEE), a student body of The Department of Commerce of St. Francis College for Women was established in 2002 as the first student club of the college, with an aim to provide a platform for the students to develop the necessary skills in order to make a mark in this constantly evolving competitive world. COFEE is organizing its annual inter-collegiate youth festival - “ARTHASHASTRA - 2012” the most popular inter collegiate youth festivals of the twin cities. Held for the first time in the year 2002 and since then it has exponentially grown each year. In 2011, ARTHASHASTRA witnessed an audience of 9000 people. Visualized as an opportunity for college students to compete, innovate, interact and share ideas. This event includes participation of more than 150 colleges in the twin cities. The festival’s goal is to bring out the hidden talents in the students and provide aplatform for them to display the same.
ARTHASHASTRA is a daylong fest and includes l0 educative and fun filled events including:
Mr. & Ms. CEO: This event brings together the brightest, smartest and most enterprising young people, in a unique contest. This is the flagship event of the fest. lt tests the participants general awareness, spontaneity and intellect.
Mock Stock Exchange:
Luck, Skill and Strategy.
This game captures the excitement of making money in the stock market, taking you through the main moves of share transactions. If you’ve never known what a share is this is just the game to help you get started. You can play against the smartest of investors and make your millions.
Biz-Wiz:
This contest is especially for all the news junkies who have all the facts and figures at the tips of their fingers. lt tests the business IQ of the participants.
Turn Coat Debate:
A fresh approach to a debate competition in which spontaneity is the key to success.The participants are required to give their perspective both for and against the topic.
ADMAD-
The participant will have to showcase their ingenuity to make an advertisement.
Junk Yard:
Fun, Innovative and Challenging.
Think “out of the box” and make something out of nothing. The participants are given an opportunity to make something innovative out of the practically unusable things and win exciting prizes.
Treasure Hunt:
Find the clues, solve the mystery and emerge victorious. The participants will have to solve the clues to find the treasure.
Descramble ‘D’ Pixels:
The participants will have to interpret the picture in economic and commerce terms.
Grafitee - T-Shirt Designing:
The participants will have to use their creativity to design t-shirts.
Amazed:
This one ofa kind event is most likely to catch your attention. The participants will have to find their way outthrough the maze by cracking the questions to move ahead.
