Rise Up - Largest Sky Lantern Carnival of India, Hyderabad

Boulder Hills in Gachibowli saw more than 20,000 lanterns lighting up the night sky and making it a breath taking scene. The onset of India's Largest Sky Lantern Festival, Riseup - an initiative taken for the empowerment of women beedi makers of Adilabad took place at Boulder Hills, Gachibowli. The Hyderabad Sky Lantern Festival 2015, RISEUP is an initiative taken for the empowerment of women and to support Women safety.
The team of Riseup operates with a belief that thousands of lanterns, released in unison create something beautiful.
RISEUP in association with Mareechi Media Works took this initiative of the event as a front face to set up lantern manufacturing unit in India which will also support RISEUP's goal to empower women in the beedi rolling industry in Adilabad. The beedi workers who are primarily women have been languishing in the beedi rolling industry for decades with poor results for themselves.
"We always wanted to make the world a better place to live. This is just a small contribution from our team to make the society a better place to live", said the team of RISEUP consisting of Sainath Goud, Rakesh Vanka, Srikanth Mushram, Rakesh Bejgum,Vastav and Mahender. The team also thanked all the families and the individuals for their active participation in the event.
More than 20,000 people registered for complete 2 day event and are set to participate. The crowd saw families having a good time by lighting up the lanterns. The fest showed a wide variety of Food/Flea market along with the spectacle of more than 20,000 lanterns released into the sky. Many well-known personalities of Hyderabad were also seen participating actively in the carnival.
