On 15th of December marking the occasion of Bapu’s birthday, screening of films directed by late Bapu was arranged at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. In the program which is being sponsored by Hyderabad Film Club, Bapu’s films will be screened from 15th of December to 21st of December. On this occasion, a press conference was held on Monday at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. Hero Krishna, Smt. Vijaya Nirmala, Ramesh Prasad, Raghurama Krishnam Raju, Allani Sridhar, Bhageeratha and Sumanth and some others have participated in the meet.
Speaking at the press meet, Krishna said, “Ramana garu provided story and dialogues for ‘Tene Manasulu’. Bapu garu used to come to the sets during the shooting of the film. In that way our acquaintance increased. After some time, Ramana and Bapu together came to me with a script and asked to play the lead role in that. Having firm belief on them, I readily accepted without listening to the script and did ‘Sakshi’ movie. At that time, shootings usually take place in Chennai. But, “Sakshi’ shoot extensively took place in outdoor. It was also selected for Tashkent Film festival. In that way, Bapu came to fame in international level with the very first film. The realism in his films set him apart from all directors. After that, I did ‘Krishnavatharam’ on his direction. I’m very happy that great director Bapu’s films, which stood as a guide to the present directors, are being screened on the occasion of his birthday.”
On this occasion, Smt. Vijaya Nirmala said, “During the shooting of ‘Sakshi’ film, apart from playing the female lead role opposite Krishna I got the chance to observe his style of direction. After that I have acted in ‘Bangaru Picchka’ and ‘Buddimanthudu’. When I turned into director, I followed Bapu. The reason behind for turning as wife to Krishna and becoming director is Bapu and he will remain in my heart forever.”
Addressing the gathering Naresh expressed, “I got the opportunity to act under top director Bapu in ‘Pellikoduku’ film. I consider myself very lucky for that.”
Speaking at the press meet, Ramesh Prasad said, “Bapu stood as a guide to the present directors.”
On this occasion, KV Ramana Chari said, “Bapu is a great artist and illustrator and crafted great movies. We must feel proud of him.”
Speaking on the occasion, Sumanth said, “I will be indebted to him. ‘Godavari’ film would not be there without ‘Andala Ramudu’. My upcoming film will also go in the lines of ‘Mr. Pellam’. Even my grandfather’s photo which I see everyday morning was also sketched by him.”
