Hyderabad, 21st May, 2019 : Neeru's is currently showcasing its Ramzan-exclusive, Gharara Festival. A traditional Lucknow outfit, the gharara was originally worn by Muslim women in the Indian subcontinent. It comprises of a short, mid-thigh length tunic known as kurti, a dupatta, and most importantly, a pair of wide-legged pants, ruched at the knee, flaring out dramatically. Each leg of a traditionally-made gharara is made using over 12 metres of fabric. The fabric commonly used are either silk or brocade. The ruched knee area, in Urdu is called gota, which is elaborately embroidered with zari and zardozi work.
