Hyderabad, 30 January, 2019… The spring edition of Kamini Saraf’s ‘Fashion Yatra’, a day-long event celebrating fashion and style organized here at Taj Krishna, Hyderabad attracted scores of fashion-conscious Hyderabadis. The one-day event showcased designer products from 60 designers from across India under a single roof. Semi-precious and precious jewellery, designer sarees, traditional wear, garments, footwear, gems, home furnishings, decorative items, etc. and other lifestyle products on sale attracted the crowds. The proceeds from the show are contributed to ‘Teach for Change’ NGO for the education of school kids in government schools
Ms. Kamini Saraf along with school kids supported by the ‘Teach for Change’ NGO inaugurated Fashion Yatra by lighting the lamp. Speaking on the sidelines, Ms. Kamini said that Fashion Yatra is organized in line with our slogan ‘Fashion with a Conscience’. This is the last edition of the event for this financial year. Fashion Yatra is being held for the last 14 years, it is held three times a year. Ninety percent of the participating designers are ladies. We have given preference to young designers from various cities to showcase their products. 60 designers from different cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata, etc. have put up 60 stalls showcasing their products such as designer jewellery, fashion garments, shoes, bags, etc. The spring edition of Fashion Yatra shows freshness in clothing with floral designs and less embroidery. The theme that we told the designers was ethical clothing with weaves and sustainable fabrics, Ms. Kamini informed. Use of plastic packaging is not allowed in this event, she declared.
A stall by a 9-year-old kid entrepreneur, Sneha Jalal was the cynosure for the eyes for visitors as well as other stall owners. Sneha, a Vth standard student in her stall showcased ‘Bathswishswish Cred Bombs’, all-herbal organic bath bombs made by her. Handmade, the bath bombs come in different flavours viz., Pink Rose, Saffron, Turmeric, Coffee Bean, Basil, Green Apple, Raspberry. When immersed in your bath tub, the bath bombs fizz and give off soothing smell that helps one relax especially on Sundays, said the energetic young Sneha. They can be used by you or can even be given as gifts on different occasions, she revealed.
Designer Purvi Doshi from Ahmedabad, Gujarat launched a special PETA certified vegan collection viz. ‘Sugar Cotton Wool Collection’. We work only with handmade, hand-woven fabrics with natural tied colours. The collection launched specially on this occasion is made from Kala cotton and consists of Dresses, Jackets, Pants, Crops, etc. informed Ms. Purvi Doshi. Designer Rachita Parekh’s Dyelogue showcased kaftans, sarees, lehangas, etc. made with contemporary colours and cuts using traditional craft of Bandini from Gujarat.
Traditionally designed centre-pieces, wall hangings, pillows, etc. with LED lights by Mumbai’s Designer Gitika Pathella appealed to the visitors.
Other designers who showcased their works at Fashion Yatra include White House by Tara-Vikas from Mumbai; India’s leading jewellery brand,Ghanasingh Be True and Teach for Change; Aarbee by Ravi Bhalotia, Adara, Alok Baid, Kolkata, Asdaab By Madiha Farooq - Mumbai, Atr'e, Baroque By Preeti Batra, Dyelogue by Rachita Parekh & many more. Exclusive sarees by Abhilasha Poddar – Varanasi and Alankrit Weaves, and Western wear by Skip- Kolkata were also on display.
A dazzling selection of traditional & contemporary jewellery from different designers like Parina Jewels (A unit of parina international), Gala Brothers Fine Jewels, Harini Fine Jewellery, Karizama of Jewels, Beauty Gems & Jewellery, Akoya Jewels, Argento Designer Silver Jewellery, House of B.I.O by Ritti Khanna, House of Shikha, Vamika Silver – Jaipur etc. drew a lot of women folk.
Stunning silver artifacts by Silver Emporium took one’s breath away. Bags and footwear by Cinderella, Fizzy Goblet, Gege – Mumbai, She-Shoo – Delhi, Skip and Stoffa pulled the crowds towards them.
Fashionable possibilities for home decor and interiors by Bringithome.in, Enlivens - Delhi, Gitika Pathella Designs & Concepts – Mumbai, Shalini Home Furnishing – Delhi, Ratan – Jaipur and other were a major draw.
