The Future is Female
For every female engineer in the Indian IT industry, there are 3 male engineers. Career trajectories of techies who moved into managerial positions shows men on an average transition to managerial positions after 6+ years of experience while women on an average transition to these roles after 8+ years of experience.
In this panel, the First DOT will throw light on the gender skew of the IT industry. On the reality of hiring practices of “gender neutral companies”. How pipelines can be created to recruit more women in Tech, and how education itself can be more conducive to women in Engineering.

The turn of the 21st century redefined innovation once more In the global economy, as thought leaders have been driven by the goal of gaining a competitive advantage through human capital. Technical skills alone, no longer suffice in the 21st century workplace.
This panel will throw light on the importance of developing core character in professionals including Cognition, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration and Citizenship. How lifelong learning is necessary for a rich, thriving professional life.

- After over a decade’s experience in business consulting, Ajit Rangnekar lead ISB, as the Dean, to be India’s topmost business school. He is currently working with the Government of Telangana and founded the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad, to promote growth and research in Life Sciences, Food Processing & Agribusiness, Clean Technologies, Hitech & Precision Engineering.
- Neha Barjatya is the Chief Saathi for Internet Saathi at Google. She is currently working under a secondment to help set up and lead the vision for FREND (Foundation for Rural Entrepreneurship Development), a not for profit entity promoted by Tata Trusts and supported by Google to help a build sustainable model of livelihood for women across Rural India. Prior to this, Neha was leading the business and brand marketing initiatives at Google in India. In her role, she has launched several projects and campaigns focused on driving the growth of Internet in the country, including the launch of the Internet Saathi program. She is very passionate about technology and strongly believes that it can play a transformative role in improving the lives of women across India. Her decision to lead the efforts of FREND underlines her commitment towards Gender Equity and creating opportunities for women to succeed. Prior to Google, Neha has worked across companies like Zee Turner, ViacomlB and Lowe Lintas. She is based in Gurgaon, and a proud mother to two daughters, Samira (8 yrs.) and Aria (3 yrs).
- Srinivas Kollipara has over 20 years of experience in product strategy, product management and business development. He founded T-Hub, the largest incubator for startups in India, and now leads it as the COO. He is an angel investor, and Hyderabad Director for the Founder Institute, the world's largest entrepreneur training & startup launch program.
