Hyderabad, August 22nd, 2017: The Asia's Largest Startup Festival, 5th Edition of The August Fest will be formally kicked off in the city on August 26 at ISB.
The August Fest is organizing six events in 2 cities to celebrate entrepreneurship in its fifth year. The 5th Edition of The August Fest was formally announced in Mumbai on 19th August and is coming to Hyderabad on the 26th and 27th August.
A Press Conference was called for in city today, to announce and share details about the event. It was graced by Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Department of IT, Govt. of Telangana; Ms. Gutta Jwala, Indian Badminton Player; Mr. Adi Vemuru, Chief of Innovation, The August Fest.
The August Fest is organized to celebrate art and entrepreneurship. Nearly 12000+ start-up enthusiasts, 100+ amazing speakers and 300+ investors, accelerator representatives are expected to participate. 150 speakers to speak in 20 sessions, which by any standards is a massive conference. It is organized with the support of Government of Telangana, ISB, Smart Sense Digital, and more community partners.
In the 5th edition this year we are expanding to more industries including tech, arts, media, sports and organizing six events in 2 cities that include The Media Festival, Scale-up Festival, The Sports Carnival, Investor Summit, Future Festival, and Social Innovation Summit informed Adi Vemuru.
We will organize two festivals-Scaleup Festival and The Sports Carnival. Both will be held at the same venue. Over 60 business leaders and sports personalities are expected to speak at these events. There will be 25 Startup pitches and ten workshops this year, informed Adi Vemuru.
Sharing more details, Subash Achanta said Scale up Festival will be held on the 26th of August. It will host speakers like Jayesh Ranjan (Secretary, Dept, of IT, Govt, of Telangana),Robin Wauters (Senior European Business Journalist and Co-Founder of Tech.eu), Hatem Abuelezz (Founder, The Peak BC from Egypt), Raj Neravati (Founder and CEO at Hug Innovations), Jasminder Singh Gulati (CEO at Now Floats) and more.
Another event organized to create a platform for sports ecosystem is The Sports Carnival. It will take place on the 27th of August and will host speakers like Varun Singh Bhati (Para High Jumper), Poorna Malavath (Indian Mountaineer), Dinaz Vervatwala (MD at Dinaz's Fitness Studio), SekharBabu (Founder at Transcend Adventures), Said Baba (Founder of Sports Coaching Foundation) and more.
In future, we would like to focus events that feature future technologies such Al, Machine Learning, Robotics, Smart Cities, Driverless Cars, Automation, Bio Hacking, Digital Health, Fin Tech, Block Chain, Crypto-Currency etc. We will also organize Investor Summit, where 400 investors from India and other countries will meet in India for the first time to discuss trends and opportunities.
Since 2013, The August Fest has been bringing the best of business leaders from across the world to Hyderabad. Last year it hosted 9600 attendees from 70 cities and 20 countries.
