Annapurna International School of Film & Media to Premiere 9 Student Films at ‘Grand Films Festival 2017’
The 2 Day festival will showcase 4 films made by Bachelors and 5 Films by Post Grad Students on different entertaining subjects & genres.
Hyderabad, India, July 07, 2017: The Grad Film Festival at Annapurna Studios opened with a curated show of films by Graduating Students of Annapurna International School of Film and Media today.
The 2-day Festival opened today with the premiere' of films made by graduating final year students of BFA, MA & MMBA degrees dealing with 9 different entertaining and thought provoking subjects.
The Bachelors films includes 'The White Field'by Karthik Parmar, 'Nitya' by Abhimanyu Kumar, 'Maut ka Kuan'by Prithvi Chahal and ‘Understanding Moksha' by Sameer Kumar. While Masters Student films Graduate Student of AISFM premier will comprise 'Preme Madhuram', by Anil Kumar, 'Bhetala'by Rohit Krishna', 'Kadivalam" by Ananya Ayachit, 'Talaari'by Degala Sai Akhil Yadav and 'Chetak' by Gandhapuneni Nandan.
Congratulating the Bachelor and Master Degree Holders and wishing them grand future, Honorary Director of AISFM Amala Akkineni said "We all are excited and eager to watch the wonderful films that premier today and tomorrow by our talented graduating students. The purpose of this festival is to create premier environment for the students as a way of celebrating their achievements in filmmaking. Such festival not only recognises exceptional student work but also allow insightful feedback from jury and variety of film professionals that enhance student skills."
Dean of the School Bala Rajasekharuni said, “Through this Grad Festival our school is committed to linking films, filmmakers, audiences and the industry. We have given full freedom to our student filmmakers to choose a variety of genres and form to find their voice of expression through cinematic art. However, at AISFM, we do equip the student filmmakers with the commercial realities of the industry & market expectations, in order for them to succeed in their careers."
The premiere and the AISFM Grad Festival 2017 were attended by industry luminaries Akkineni Nagarjuna-Founder AISFM, Amala Akkineni - Director of AISFM, Vijayendra Prasad, Tanikella Bharani, Indraganti Mohan Krishna, Srinivas Avasarala, Sesh Adivi, Kalyan Krishna, Omkar, Gopimohan, Lagadapati Sridhar, Vakkantham Vamsi and K.L. Prasad.
For the AISFM students it was a jubilation time as they celebrate the culmination of their work that took one semester long process of film- making through various stages like selection of stories by a faculty committee, rigorous screenwriting, production planning, shooting, post-production through the able mentorship of faculty until the final copy were cut. Students took on various crew positions on multiple films based on their respective specialisations.
Followed by Grad Festival opening on Friday, on Saturday, 8th July there will be screening of Grad Films in two shows from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, which is open for friends, families of students & well wishers.
