Taking the wave to the next level is Raatnam an exclusive and one of its kind Khadi design studio and store. With nearly 2 decades of experience in the fashion industry and professional grooming from NIFT and other reputed institutions, Konda Kavitha Reddy is all set to realize her dream of revamping the rich heritage and traditional fabric "Khadi" through Raatnam. Located in the plush Begumpet, Raatnam smells, feels and oozes the essence of Khadi. "Since my initial days as a fashion designer, I have closely worked with the weavers and spinners. In addition, I always use to get attracted to Khadi and majority of my outfits were khadi kurtis or shrugs. So, with Raatnam it's like realizing my DREAM," says Ms. Kavitha about her vision behind Raatnam. The guests and visitors were amazed at the way Khadi had been revamped with a modern tinge of designs and colors. "I am happy as Raatnam is my destination to achieve personal and professional satisfaction. As 1 get to experiment with my favorite fabric, I also get to contribute in providing livelihood to various spinners and weavers. Me and my husband are planning to identify weavers and spinners in different districts and give them employment. In addition, all those who are looking for employment, we also plan to train them so that we can spread this skill which eventually will help the skill to live long," adds Ms. Kavitha about the motto of Raatnam. The store offers customized designs and soon plans to venture into ready-mades to reach out to a wide audience. The collection, however, looked extremely promising making it loud and clear that fashion lovers have found a new shopping destination.
