A group of 60 people members of Indian Institute of Homoeopathic physicians (IIHP) from all over the country have successfully completed an unique Homoeopathic pilgrimage tour from 4th June to 15th June 2017 visiting all historic places connected with the life of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy. During the pilgrimage members visited the birth place, school (at Meissen, Germany), and houses where Hahnemann lived, practised and wrote different books on Homoeopathy. The team also visited various museums related to Homoeopathy in Rome (Italy), Torgau, Leipzig, Kothen, Robert Bosch Foundation Centre, Stuttgart (all in Germany) and paid floral tributes at the Hahnemann cemetery in Paris (France). A large size oil on canvas portrait of Dr. Hahnemann, painted by an Indian artist was presented to the chiefs of the Hahnemann Museums at Kothen and Torgau. At each Centre and museum the delegation provided a plastic plaque with stand, prominently depicting the Indian flag on the left side and IIHP logo on the right side, which was happily kept on the shelf of the museum as IIHP memoir.
The delegation had the honour of felicitating the chief custodians of the museums and memorials in an Indian traditional way at Rome (Italy), Robert Bosch Foundation Stuttgart, Kothen and Torgau (all in Germany) with IIHP mementos and silk shawls specially brought from Chennai. They all were overwhelmed by our gesture of respect, appreciation and conveyed to us that such honour was never bestowed on them by any group that visited them earlier.
Presently the Torgau house where Dr. Hahnemann lived is in the custody of persons not connected with Homoeopathy and it is being used for commercial purpose. The Homoeopaths in this area have hired another building adjacent to Hahnemann’s house to run the International Hahnemann’s Centre. The Homoeopathic doctors who are looking after Torgau Centre need to pay hiring and maintenance charges.
IIHPians voluntarily collected 2000 Euros and made a modest contribution in their efforts to maintain and protect this historical house where Hahnemann lived at one time. IIHP promised to contribute another 8000 Euros to this Centre. Mrs. Carola Scheuren first chairwoman IHZT, Torgau has presented two rare books to IIHP that are not in print now. It is indeed a rare honour to IIHP team. The IIHP also had a honour of being invited to present papers in the International Homoeopathic Convention that was held in Leipzig Germany from 14th June 2017 to 17thJune 2017 where its members
