The Week 16th of Physical Literacy Days was celebrated today with the theme GLOBAL PARENTS DAY.
On the occasion, Dronacharya Awardee and Athletic Coach Nagapuri Ramesh graced as the guest.
Fitness is important for all ages. It is important for children to bring their aged parents out to create more social life for them. I know all of us are busy but families are a priority, said Ramesh who is also coach of India's fastest women sprinter - Dutee Chand.
Many youngsters brought their parents and families and seen doing physical activities together. The Global Day of Parents is observed on the 1st of June every year.
The Global Day provided an opportunity to appreciate all parents in all parts of the world for their selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship.
Since the 1980s, the important role of the family has increasingly come to the attention of the international community. The General Assembly of UN adopted a number of resolutions, and proclaimed the International Year of the Family and the International Day of Families.
The other events held include Yoga, Punjabi Bhangra, Zumba, Skating, Cycling, Boxing, Kids Games, Fitness Challenge, Street Games, Hobby Workshops.
