IPHEX 2017, the 5th edition of Mega Pharma Show organized by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, was inaugurated in HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad over a glittering opening ceremony by Sri KT Rama Rao, Cabinet Minister for IT E&C, MAUD, Industries & Commerce, Mines & Geology, Public Enterprises and NRI Affairs, Government of Telangana in presence of Sri Agyeman Manu Kwaku, Honorable Minister of Health, Govt of Ghana.
Sri Rama Rao extended his warm greetings to over 580 Overseas buyers, 50 drug regulators and 275 exhibitors attending the exhibition and invited the gathering to explore the fully integrated eco system offered by Telangana to pharma industry.
Highlighting the leadership position of Hyderabad in pharma sector, the minister said, ’’Hyderabad is the world leader in production of vaccines and also offers a well developed R&D expertise necessary for further development of pharma sector.”
“We invite the industry to invest in upcoming Hyderabad Pharma City and take advantage of an integrated live-work-learn-play eco friendly system,” said Sri Rama Rao.
Sri Agyeman Manu Kwaku, Honorable Minister of Health, Govt, of Ghana expressed his pleasure at being present at IPHEX 2017.
“India is a long term preferred partner for Pharma supplies to Africa and we invite the Indian pharma industry to set up manufacturing units in Ghana and offer quality medicines at affordable costs.”, said Mr. Kwaku.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Madan Mohan Reddy, Chairman, Pharmexcil said, “IPHEX 2017 - the largest global showcase for the Indian pharmaceutical and healthcare sector is host to overseas buyers are coming from over 110 countries and we are demonstrating our vast expertise in supplies of APIs, formulations, nutraceuticals, excipients, veterinary drugs, biological and ayush products.”
Mr. Udaya Bhaskar, Director General, Pharmexcil said, "India already has a significant presence of generics in US, European and African markets, and we have invited drug regulators and pharma procurement specialists to IPHEX 2017. They will participate in workshops and offer on the spot advisory services to Indian exporters on doing business in their countries.”
Mr. Bhaskar also highlighted the presence of CSIR Industry Innovation Lounge where doyens from India pharmaceutical research institutions like IICT, NCL etc. will be available for interactions with pharma business community.
