The Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation is organizing 76 blood donation camps across the country on Sunday & Monday, April 23 & 24, 2017 as the Sant Nirankari Mission celebrates the day as Manav Ekta Divas (Human Unity Day) to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, who laid down his life on this day in 1980. The Mission is also paying tributes to hundreds of devotees who sacrificed their lives for love, truth, peace and unity.
The series of the blood donation camps were inaugurated in Delhi by Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj.
In Hyderbad, blood donation camp were inaugurated by Rev. Mohini Ahuja Ji (Zonal Incharge AP & TS) and delegates from the Red Cross Society. A motor bike rally with about 70 vehicles and 140 members of the Sewa Dal and other devotees went around various parts of Hyderabad to create awareness about this noble cause among citizens.
Speaking on the Occasion Rev. Mohini Ahuja Ji (Zonal Incharge AP & TS) said " The Blood Donation Camp marks "Manav Ekta Divas"-The Blood Donation Camp is held to spread the message of universal peace & brotherhood. She added "Over 450 People came forward to donate blood, she thanked people for taking part in blood donation drive".
Besides Delhi, 11 blood donation camps will be organized each in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra; 6 in Rajasthan; 5 each in Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh; 4 each in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar; 3 each in Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Jharkhand; 2 in Jammu and Kashmir; and 1 each in Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Assam, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Last year in Delhi alone devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission donated 1589 units of blood on this day.
Starting from April 24, blood donation camps are organized by the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in various parts of the country throughout the year. The schedule from May 1 onwards is, however, decided by the Zonal Incharges and the branches of the Mission concerned. Last year, the Foundation organized a total of 479 blood donation camps and donated 80,560 units of blood.
The Mission today has 4 hospitals at Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Agra, 150 dispensaries, 9 pathological laboratories, 7 dental centres and 6 eye centres throughout the country, all working on charitable basis.
