NTR Yuganiki Okkadu Book Release

Senior film journalist Vinayaka Rao wrote a book titled ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ on the 60 years of the acting career of Legendary actor Natasaarvabauma Late Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Dr U V Krishnam Raju graced the occasion and released the book. The first copy of it was received by Nandamuri Balakrishna. Other VIP guests in the function were Dr D Ramanaidu, Dr C Narayana Reddy, Sr actress Krishnaveni, NR Anuradha Devi, R Narayana Murthy, Boyapati Sreenu, Nauda Venkata Ramana Babu, U Vinayaka Rao, etc. Sr actress Krishnaveni was felicitated in the function.

Later in his speech Balakrishna said, “The blessings of ‘Kalaamathalli’ is required for anyone to grow in the film industry. My father has close association with the people in 24 frames than his own kit and kin. I remember one incident when I was shooting under his direction. I burnt my legs in one particular shot but he never bothered to even know how it happened and proceeded with the next shot. In that manner he thought me to be bold and self-confident.”

On awards he said, “Frankly speaking, these awards and posts are not the ornaments for him. It’s the other way round. He is the ornament for them. In his initial stage of film career he could not achieve big as a producer but later he produced many message oriented films. Not all can become legends. NTR is one such individual who brought pride to Telugu community. I’m really lucky to be born as his son. Though people opined that one must be intelligent, shrewd and witty to be a politician, he entered politics by believing that people are Gods and society is the temple. We may forget the names of many who are born on this land, but my father will be remembered as long as the Telugu community exists. NTR is an inspiration and he is an emotion. I wish this book ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ written on his life history will reach the people of nook and corner. I congratulate Vinayaka Rao garu for writing one such wonderful book on NTR’s life history.”

Dr D Ramanaidu said, “I congratulate Vinayaka Rao for presenting the life history of N T Rama Rao garu in the form of ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’. He is my first hero and ‘Ramudu Bheemudu’ is like a sowing seed in my life. Balakrishna was very small at the time of the making of ‘Ramudu Bheemudu’ and Rama Rao garu used to call him as his nata varasudu right from that time. I learnt self discipline from him and we all should try for acquiring Bharata Ratna for him.”

Krishnaveni said, “I produced a film titled ‘Mana Desam’ under my own banner for which Samudrala Raghava Chari garu penned the script and LV Prasad garu was the director. It was director L V Prasad garu who introduced N T Rama Rao garu to me when he was selected for a small police officer role in that film. I feel I was honoured to pay him an amount of Rs 250/-. He used to be very dedicated on the shooting sets. My 2nd film ‘Palletoori Pilla’ also became a hit. He would always appreciate me and my films. He is a man of large heart. I missed many chances of acting with him. Time is very short to speak about him. I congratulate Vinayaka Rao garu for writing a book on him.”

U Vinayaka Rao while speaking said, “Today is an unforgettable day in my life. As NTR’s fan, I’m very happy to get the opportunity to pen a book on his life history. He is ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’. I collected information from all of them who spent atleast two years with NTR. It took about a year to write this book after collecting the information. I thank Nauda Venkataramana Babu for giving me the financial support. I thank all the honourable guests for making this event a grand success with their presence.”
