Press Meet: Ram Charan clarifies about the attack
Press Meet: Ram Charan clarifies about the attack

Ram Charan finally broke his silence with a press conference on Thursday on Sunday’s road incident at Banjara Hills involving two IT professionals and his bodyguards.
On this issue he organised a press conference to put an end to any further speculation over the incident. Speaking to the media Ram Charan said, “Since I got some break from the long time shooting, on Sunday, our family planned a lunch at Taj Krishna. So while my parents left a bit early in their car, my wife Upasana and I were going in another car. When we reached GVK Mall, we saw a car with L-board blocking our way at the busy road. So I horned twice but did not get any response. Later I overtook them from aside and asked why they were practicing with L-board on a busy road. After a while when my car stopped at the Taj signal, I observed the same car stopping behind my car and horning repeatedly. But I couldn’t cross move forward as there was a red signal. As a celebrity I don’t want to take law in my hands. Moreover my wife Upasana was sitting next to me. As both of us were visible through the window panes, two persons got out of that car and started knocking the window where Upasana was sitting. Hence when I immediately called my security guards, they came to our rescue and moved them away from that place. Later we learnt that the two persons were IT professionals. They did not file a police complaint because they knew that they were also at fault. But it appears that a section of media had provoked them to give a complaint in a police station along with some morphed photographs. I too would have given a complaint stating that the two have harassed the ladies. But I don’t like to play with other career. That’s the reason why I maintained silence for so long. Today, I’m forced to be in front of the media because of the demand for apologies from my side. But why should I say sorry? I’ve not taken any action despite their harsh behavior. Will anyone remain silent if the same thing happens to their family ladies? I’m a celebrity. The road would have been surrounded by the mob had I got down my car. However, I remained silent since I don’t like to create a scene. I don’t want a publicity. I’m delivering three to four movies a year. The publicity that I get through my films is sufficient. I newspaper published photographs that show my attack on them. But the photographer who shot those called our office for negotiation. We have even recorded his voice. The published photos are morphed ones. I request the media to leave the issue at that keeping the IT persons career in mind. Otherwise I’ll not think twice to proceed legally.”
He concluded the press conference saying, “Whether the cycle hits the car or car hits the cycle, blame would ultimately fall on the car.”
