AR Rahman Felicitated by P. Susheela

Music maestro AR Rahman, the Oscar Award winner was felicitated by the legend singer, P Susheela in Hotel Marriot on May 9th. P Susheela felicitated AR Rahman with a golden crown called ‘Swarna Kireetam’ and also ornamented Rahman’s mother with a golden bracelet called ‘Swarna Kankanam’. The title ‘Sur Shehanshah’ was bestowed to AR Rahman by Dr C Narayana Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion AR Rahman said that he attended this function mainly due to high respects for P Susheela. She is a great singer and it is a great honour having been conferred by such a great singer. He recollected his past life and said that it was only the Telugu music directors like Ramesh Naidu, Raj and Koti who helped him during his hard days and said that he is greatful to them forever. He later crooned the world famous words ‘Jai Ho’ when the audience requested.
