Doctors appeal to women to come forward for cancer screening Early Detection is key to Breast Cancer Cure Omega Hospitals Organises a Breast Cancer Awareess Program
On the eve of October being observed as Breast Cancer Month, Omega Hospitals is organising various awareness programs across the month. As part of these programs, Hospital has organised a special breast cancer awareness program in Inorbit Mall, Hitec City, Hyderabad today.
Nandini Nursing Home movie stars Naveen Vijay Krishna, Nithya Naresh & Shravya participated in the program along with Dr Susheela Narayanan, Breast Surgeon, Omeaga Hospitals.
Beginning the program, Dr Susheela Narayanan has explained various signs of breast cancer that may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin. She urged women to immediately contact doctors once they identify any one of the above signs with out hesitation and get themselves screened for the disease.
Later Speaking on the occassion Nitya Naresh, Herione in Nandini Nursing Home Movie has opined that several women are feeling shy of coming forward to discuss issues concerned to breast. She urged women to conduct breast self examination on regular basis and asked them to come forward with out any fear and shy to get examine for any lump or abnormality noticed with out any delay. She also asked male members to keep a special watch on their breasts as incidence of breast cancer in males is increasing day by day along with females.
Later speaking on the occassion Sravya, Herione in Nandini Nursing Home has emphasised the need to conduct breast self examination regularly. She said that by lying on your back. It is easier to examine all breast tissue. Place your right hand behind your head. With the middle fingers of your left hand, gently yet firmly press down using small motions to examine the entire breast, she added. Similarly one can feel armpit, chec for any pain during discharge are the other symptoms of breast cancer she said. She urged women to remove any apprehensions and come forward for screening thus making it possible for early detection.
Finally speaking on the occasion Naveen Vijaya Krishna, Hero of Nandini Nursing Home has appreciated the efforts of creating awareness about the deadly disease by the hospital. While expressing happiness for being part of an awareness program, he emphasised that in cancer treatment, early detection is key for survival and urged the hospital to organise more such programs so that people can detect the disease early and can survive.
At the end of the program Dr Susheela Narayanan along with cine stars have participated in a signature campaign that pledges the support for breast cancer awareness.
