DEEPMELA is Hyderabad's premier shopping extravaganza organized by the DEEPSHIKHA MAHILA CLUB in July every year. The annual fund-raising event is being conducted regularly for the past over 2 decades with spectacular success and has now grown into the most- awaited exhibition by the city's elite. Deepshikha Mahila Club is the premier voluntary and social welfare organization of the twin cities. Established in 1965, with a history of over 50 years, their motto is "Service to Humanity is Service to God". Philanthropy, Education, Healthcare and Empowerment through skill development are among the multifarious activities undertaken by the Club. The Deepmela is used to fund the on-going charitable activities of the Club, including the running of the 1200-strong Kanya Gurukul High School, Junior College and Vocational College at Ameerpet in Hyderabad.
Deepshikha Mahila Club is a leading philanthropic organization with a strength of about 150 members. It has adopted the Kanya Gurukul High School at Ameerpet, Hyderabad, under its wings, where education is imparted to over 1200 girl students. The curriculum covers education upto Junior College level, and a Vocational training center that empowers young women from financially weaker sections of society. The center trains them in skills such as tailoring, embroidery, computer science, pre-primary teachers' training courses, para-medical and office-assistant courses. Deepshikha has always come forward to help in humanitarian causes, such as heart surgery for under-privileged children, extending support to families affected by floods, sending help to the soldiers at the Kargil Front and providing Artificial Limbs to more than 100 physically challenged people. These are only a few of the causes which DEEPSHIKHA was involved in.
The Deepmela is being held this year at Hall No. 3, Hitex Convention Centre, Madhapur, Hyderabad, on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of July, 2016. This year, the Mela features over 225 stalls from across India and abroad. The stalls display the widest possible range of items. The Mela has a footfall of over 20,000 visitors spread across the 3 days. The venue is air-conditioned and covered for optimum comfort of the stall-holders, visitors and shoppers alike.
Deepmela is a fun day out for the entire family - the wide variety available ensures that there is something for every member of the family. Apart from the stalls, an additional attraction to the Mela is the Food Court adjoining the Main Hall, which features a veritable culinary delight with its range of mouth-watering savories and delicacies. From Indian to Global, the best of cuisine is available at the Mela to tingle the taste buds of the most discerning.
