Taapsee Pannu, Anupam Kher, Prithviraj, Manoj Bajpayee and Akshay Kumar starrer action spy thriller 'Naam Shabana' is all set to hit screens on March 31. On this occasion the film unit has arranged press meet on Thursday i.e. on March 30 in Hyderabad. Neeraj Pandey, who is known with the films like 'A Wednesday' and 'Special 26', has written the story. The film has music by Rochak Kohli and Meet Bros. Shivam Nair is the director. Aruna Bhatia and Shital Bhatia are producing the film.
Speaking at the press meet, director Shivam Nair said, “The story of the film explains the character of a girl Shabana. How the middleclass girl turns into spy makes the story of ‘Naam Shabana’. After watching the 2015 blockbuster film ‘Baby’, I approached Neeraj Pandey to explain the character. He was very impressed by the script and started the film.”
On this occasion, Taapsee Pannu shared, “My character in the blockbuster film ‘Baby’ has received accolades. One day Neeraj Pandey explained the character of a girl Shabana through a phone call and asked my opinion. My character in ‘Baby’ is 15 min duration pivotal role. It’s not a simple thing to make a full-fledged film based on that character. I was thrilled after completing the film. ‘Naam Shabana’ came out wonderfully. Entire unit has supported me a lot. It’s not a simple thing for a heroin to carry the total film on her shoulders. Except Rana, all artists who acted in ‘Baby’ have worked for this film. ‘Naam Shabana’ is not a prequel, it explains the character of a girl Shabana. We can call it as a spin-off. How the middleclass girl turns into spy makes the story of ‘Naam Shabana’. It’s a never seen before story in Indian cinema. I was trained in martial arts and kudo along with krav maga. I played comedy role in ‘Chashme Baddoor’ and serious drama role in ‘Pink’. You will see me in a regular commercial role in ‘Judwaa’. Shabana is a short tempered and aggressive character. I am working under ‘Patashala’ fame Mahi’s direction in Telugu.”
