Shakuni Logo Launch

Karthi, who became familiar among the Telugu audience with films like ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’, ‘Awara’ and ‘Naa Peru Shiva’ is now coming up with yet another film titled ‘Sakuni’. The film is directed by Shankar Dayal and produced by K E Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green banner with Praneetha as heroine opposite Karthi. Music is scored by G V Prakash Kumar. The logo and teaser of the Telugu version of the film was released by VV Vinayak today. Other guests in the function were Chatrapathi Prasad, Gemini Kiran, S R Prabhu, T Prasanna Kumar, SVR Media’s Shobha Rani, etc.

Later while speaking VV Vinayak said, “One should have guts to keep the title ‘Sakuni’. In general no hero would agree to act in films with such titles. But I appreciate Karthi for doing so. I was thrilled to see his get-up and the movie’s title in Chennai. Karthi is more apt to be the Telugu hero than a Tamil hero as all his films are earning good revenues to the producers. Gnanavel Raja is promoting the film very well. His promotion style is very good. Director Shankar Dayal worked with me for my film ‘Dil’ in the past. I’m very happy to meet him after a very long time. His 14 years long dream of becoming a director has finally become true through this film. I thank the producer for giving him this opportunity and making his dream come true.”

Dr D Ramanaidu said, “As Vinayak said I too was surprised at the title ‘Sakuni’. According to me ‘Sakuni’ might not be the hero but some other character. I whole-heartedly wish for the success of the film. Karthi’s father Siva Kumar acted in many Tamil films that were produced by me. I wish his son Karthi for his future endeavors.”

Producer Gnanavel said, “Movie Moghul Ramanaidu is the only man who made films in those many languages mentioned on the rupee note. I’m inspired by him and doing films. I thank him for gracing this function. With wonderful team the film’s output is great. The specialty of this film is great artists like Kota Srinivas Rao, Radhika, Nazar, Roja and Santhanam. This is almost like a straight film for Karthi because we are going to release the film in Telugu and Tamil at the same time. I hope the audience will watch and appreciate the film.”

Shankar Dayal said, “Sakuni is a political satire movie. It is about a young man’s journey in political field. Every man in his political journey will be a twist. Likewise there are many twists in the film. The hero is humble, trust-worthy and a helping natured man. Karthi’s real life character is also the same. Hence we adopted the same character and placed in the movie.”

Hero Karthi said, “The title ‘Sakuni’ is getting very good response. Many are surprised by hearing to that title. My character in this film was designed inspired by Lord Sri Krishna’s character. I will be seen in many get-ups in this film. There will be a twist in the story for every 20 minutes. Kota Srinivas garu and Radhika garu will enter in the second half. I’m working with such big artists for the first time in my career. Hence I learnt many things through them. There are lot of expectations on this film. The director is very talented and crafted the film very well. Pranitha gave a wonderful performance. I’m very happy for having done one such good film. G V Prakash Kumar scored mass songs for the first time. I thank Ramanaidu garu and Vinayak garu for having come to this function.”

“I’m very happy for being part of this film which is going to be plus in my career. My character in this film is very beautiful. Such films usually have less preference for heroines. But the director has designed my character very well. Working with Karthi gave a good experience. I thank my director and producer for giving me the opportunity to work for this film,” said heroine Pranita.
