Oy Success Meet

Siddarth-Shamili starring ‘Oy’ directed by Anand Ranga and produced by DVV Danayya was released on July 3rd and running successfully. On the occasion a success meet was arranged at Prasad Labs today to thank the media and the audience.

D Suresh Babu, Siddarth, DVV Danayya, Anand Ranga, Rajasimha, Krishnudu and Surekha Vani participated in the meet.

D Suresh Babu who distributed ‘Oy’ for Nizam area said that the film’s first week’s collection is Rs1.5 crores. He congratulated the entire team of ‘Oy’ and opined that the film is a very neat, clean and very well taken.

Krishnudu said that he could not stop his emotions while watching the film. He thanked the director and producer for giving him the opportunity to be part of one such wonderful film.

Dialogue writer Rajasimha opined that the film ‘Oy’ was born due to Siddarth and it took off only due to Siddarth. He informed that director Anand Ranga penned the script keeping Siddarth in mind.

Surekha Vani while speaking, “I do not know how Anand Ranga felt on ‘Oy’ release day but I was very much tensed because the audience are used to see me in homely characters whereas I did a glamorous role in the film. So I was worried about their reaction. I also thank Siddarth for his cooperation on the sets.”

Siddarth said, “It is this film that the film industry is supporting after a very long time. The audience always use to tell me that they are bored of watching me as lover boy. So to give them a different appeal ‘Oy’ happened. This is the first time my film is getting such big openings and advance bookings for 2nd week also are over. I’m happy to note that morning shows are fully packed even during week days. I thank Yuvan Shankar Raja for providing the wonderful music which also helped gthe film in getting good openings. His music is the main highlight of the film and today, be it a tea-shop or auto or shopping mall…everywhere the music of ‘Oy’ is heard. I also thank Danayya garu for his full support. His involvement was not just in film making but also in promoting the film pre-release and post release. This apart, he is also supporting me in my Yatra which I’m going to do shortly.”

Further speaking Siddarth said, “Nagarjuna garu said that people are saying that ‘Oy’ resembles ‘Geetanjali’. But the difference between the two are ‘Geetanjali’ got a flop talk in the beginning and then picked up slowly whereas ‘Oy’ has got good collections in the 1st week itself. He advised me to choose films with different concepts and do it with confidence because the audience prefer to watch new conceptual films only. In the same way today the audience from all walks of life are watching this film because films like ‘Oy’ will happen only once in a long time.”

DVV Danayya informed, “Siddarth introduced the director of this film. I’m completely satisfied that I made a good family entertainer. On ‘Oy’ release day all distributors called and thanked me for giving them one such good film and that they are happy with the collections.”
