'My Dear Maarthandam', a courtroom-crime comedy, stars '30 Years Industry' Prudhvi Raj as an unqualified lawyer who takes up a case and messes up with it initially. Rakendu Mouli and Kalyan Vitapu (who was recently seen famously in 'Arjun Reddy') are playing the accused, while Kalpika Ganesh is paired up with the former.
The film's Teaser launch event was held today (Saturday). Director-writer Harish KV and the film's main actors exuded confidence in the film.
Kalpika said, "The shooting of the movie was completed in just 18 days. It was possible only because of the perfect planning of the direction department. Prudhvi Raj garu has played my uncle in the movie. Needless to say, his comic timing is great. The audience will walk out with a smile after watching our crime comedy. It was happy to work with Rakendu, with whom I am paired. We elevated each other's characters to the best of our abilities."
Prudhvi Raj said, "I am happy to have teamed up with Mazin Movie Makers. It was great working with Harish KV, who took the film to the floors only with a perfect script. Not a single dialogue was changed. For the 18 days that we shot, every artist gave total cooperation. I have played a very good character and have received a very good amount as remuneration. I will be seen as an incompetent lawyer who can doze in the courtroom anytime. He is innocent but also is clever enough to eventually bail out his clients. His ways are different. It was great working with Jayaprakash Reddy garu, Tagubothu Ramesh, Krishna Bhagawan (as a public prosecutor) and others. The film balances both comedy and crime elements. We feel fortunate that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy garu unveiled the Teaser recently."
Rakendu Mouli said, "I was introduced by Gautham Menon sir with 'Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo'. 'Kirrak Party' early this year was my second outing. And 'My Dear Maarthandam' is my third film. I will always be indebted to Harish anna. Although the film has been made on a small budget, the visuals are grand. Ryamdy garu, the cinematographer of 'RX 100', has done a terrific job in this movie, too. I have penned the songs along with my father, Vennelakanti garu. The film is a full-fledged comedy. Kalpika is a natural actress. The film unfolds in Nellore backdrop."
Kalyan Vitapu said, "I thank YS Jagan garu for releasing the teaser. Our film is about two youngsters who approach Prudhvi Raj garu's character, a lawyer, when they fall in trouble and blindly trust him to save them. But they don't know what type of a lawyer he is! BH Garry's editing, Pavan's music and Ryamdy's cinematography are really entertaining."
Harish KV, the film's writer-director, said, "Our film is a courtroom and crime comedy sans routine elements. Prudhvi Raj garu's character learns to probe from a book and goes about arguing in the court in his own fashion. Mahesh Vitta, Sudarshan and other comedians are also seen. I could complete the film successfully although I am a debutant only because the actors I have worked with are more experienced than me. I urge everyone to support our small film."
