The pre-release event of ‘Mercury’, a silent thriller starring Prabhu Deva in a lead role, was held on April 8 at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Karthik Subbaraj, who is riding sky high with commercial successes and critical acclaims, is going engage audience with yet another interesting films. This brilliant director is going to give us new experience with a silent thriller ‘Mercury’. Prabhu Deva in a lead role, Pen Studios and Stone Bench Films presents ‘Mercury’ produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Jayantilal Gada is releasing worldwide on April 13. KFC Production is releasing the film in Telugu.
On this occasion, producer Kaarthekeyen Santhanam said, “I am happy that I have produced a wonderful film. ‘Mercury’ has been made with a unique point. 30 years ago Kamal Haasan garu has done a silent film ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ and now after these many years we are making a silent film on our banner. Karthik Subbaraj’s taking, Prabhu Deva’s performance and making of the film will a thrill feel to audience. The film has been made on a commercial thriller genre. I am sure ‘Mercury’ will take the Indian cinema to the next level like ‘Baahubali’.”
Director Karthik Subbaraj said, “‘Mercury’ is my fourth film as director. My first film ‘Pizza’ has become big success in Telugu too. ‘Mercury’ is a silent thriller. It is releasing on April 13. I am very happy that the film is being releasing in Telugu. The film will give a fresh feel to audience and it will connect to everyone emotionally. Villain’s role will be unique. When I was looking for a great artist to perform that role, Prabhu Deva garu struck in my mind. He was very much impressed by the script and immediately accepted to act in this. As there is a strike in Tamil Nadu, we are releasing the film in all areas except Tamil Nadu.”
Addressing the gathering, Prabhu Deva said, “’Mercury’ is a wonderful film. It will stand out as one of the best films in my career. I am eagerly waiting for the release of the film to see audience response. This will stand out as one of the best films in Karthik’s career. It is creating new standards technically.
