The makers of Siddharth and Andrea Jeremiah’s trilingual horror film ‘Gruham’ directed by Milind Rau, have announced the release date at a press meet held on Tuesday i.e. on October 24 in Hyderabad. The film is all set to hit theaters on November 3. The film has been titled as ‘Avai’ in Tamil and ‘The House Next Door’ in Hindi. The film will have Siddharth playing a neurologist. The film also features Atul Kulkarni in a crucial role.
Hero Nani, Siddharth, Thaman SS, director Milind Rau and music director Girish and some others were present at the press meet. The trailer of the film was screened at the event. Natural star Nani graced the event as chief guest.
Speaking at the press meet, hero Siddharth said, “I like horror films. Horror films don’t require any hero. The fear element itself is the hero. Our aim is to make the film in a fresh way. Making horror films is not a simple thing. We have screened the film to 200 friends. Which scene will frighten audience and which will not? - We have taken due care in every aspect and made the film by making corrections with their suggestions. We have worked on the script for four and half years and this shows how much we worked hard. Girish has given wonderful music and background score. Milind garu and I are big fans of Ram Gopal Varma garu. No horror film has reach the range of Ram Gopal varma’s ‘Deyyam’ and ‘Bhoot’. We are confident that ‘Gruham’ will reach. The dialogue ‘Mottam Meere Chesaru’ in ‘Bommarillu’ has got tremendous response. Likewise, ‘Gruham’ will get good response from audience for sure. A doctor in the film goes to Himachal Pradesh along with his wife. Another family lives in the house next door. The problems they have to face because of a girl in that house makes the crux of the story. Audience will be thrilled after watching the film for sure. Language is not a barrier for fear and therefore we are releasing the film in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Telugu industry has encouraged me as hero.”
On this occasion, Natural star Nani said, “When I was in Warangal for ‘MCA’ shooting, I was frightened after watching the trailer of Tamil film ‘Avali’. After two day Siddhu has sent me the Telugu version trailer. Milind has carved out the film wonderfully. It has been long time since we have seen such kind of films in India. ‘Gruham’ is the number one horror movie. It is on par with Hollywood films. It appears to be in the style of Ram Gopal Varma’s. After ‘Deyyam’ and ‘Conjuring’, this film has frightened me. I am very sure the film will become big hit.”
Addressing the gathering, director Milind Rau said, “Siddharth and I have joined at a time at Manirathnam garu as assistant directors. Ours is 16 years friendship. I like horror genres. We worked on the script for four and half years to bring a different film. Each and every scene came out wonderfully. There will be never seen before thrills in the film ‘Gruham’. Telugu audience have encouraged many new directors. I hope they will encourage me as well.”
Music director Girish said, “This is my first film in Telugu. Songs and background score came out wonderfully. Rahman garu has penned wonderful lyrics. Telugu lyrics are more wonderful than Tamil ones. I am sure ‘Gruham’ will stand out as a No.1 horror film in India. I will be in the range of Hollywood film. Milind Rau has given full freedom to me and extracted good music from me.”
Thaman too spoke at the press meet and wished for the success of the film.
