‘Spyder’ will have all elements which audience look for, says Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu-Rakul Preet Singh’s ‘Spyder’ which has been made in both Telugu and Tamil languages, releasing worldwide on September 27. Directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Spyder’ will have Mahesh Babu playing an intelligence officer. The film stars Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, while SJ Surya will be seen as the antagonist. ‘Spyder’ is being produced by Tagore Madhu and NV Prasad under NVR Cinema LLP and Reliance Entertainment banners with Tagore Madhu as presenter. On the eve of film’s release, the film unit has arranged press meet.
On this occasion, Superstar Mahesh Babu said, “Premier shows will be screened within a couple of hours in US. I am feeling proud by seeing numbers in US. The film had been creating lot of buzz like never before. I am most excited. In an interview AR Murugadoss said, “Every director should work with Mahesh at least once.” It is one of the biggest complements I have received so far in my career. Working with AR Murugadoss garu is very exciting and the most memorable experience in my career. To shoot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously is really a tough job and a rare experience.”
Revealing the details of the film, Mahesh said, “Generally, Murugudoss garu’s films are of two types. One is with social message and another is stylish and action. ‘Spyder’ is of second type. It is stylish and action entertainer. Internally there will be a message as well. Hero works in an IB office. It’s a mind game movies revolves around hero and villain. You find terrific screenplay and stunning visuals. The film is loaded with all elements which audience look for. There will be many surprises in the movie. You must watch it on the big screen. It’s not a James bond movie, it’s a spy thriller. ‘Spyder’ is a big budget movie, so it has to break the barriers in different languages to recover the budget and that is the main reason behind making the film bilingual. ‘Spyder’ is the biggest project in my career. All my school friends and college friends are from Chennai. Suddenly, I left Chennai and got drenched in acting. No one approached me to do a Tamil film. After nearly 18 years Murugadoss garu narrated me a script and I was very much impressed and given instant nod. The way that Tamil cine fraternity has received is wonderful. I can’t explain it in words. Really tears rolled on my eyes. I am eagerly waiting for the film. There are mind blogging action scenes in the film. While working for our film, Peter Haines has received national award for ‘Pulimurugan’. We are expecting another national award for Peter Haines for ‘Spyder’.”
AR Murugadoss said, “We have made ‘Spyder’ in Telugu and Tamil languages by balancing the story and keeping Mahesh Babu’s image in mind.”
“I already did Tamil films. ‘Spyder’ is like a comeback film for me in Tamil. I worked with a wonderful team and it is like an unforgettable experience for me. Working with Mahesh Babu is a great experience. I played an important character in the film,” said Rakul Preet Singh.
Harris Jairaj said, “It’s a one and half year journey. Entire team has kept heart and soul for the good outcome of the film. ‘Spyder’ is an intense thriller subject. I worked continuously for 34 days. I took it not just as a challenge but also as a responsibility. I did different background scores for Telugu and Tamil to suit the nativity. I have given music by keeping Mahesh Babu’s craze in mind.”
On this occasion, producer NV Prasad said, “I have been wanting to introduce Telugu heroes to Tamil industry. It happened now with ‘Spyder’. The film is releasing worldwide on September 27. The film has garnered good craze in Tamil Nadu as well. The film is going to be stand out as the biggest opening as well as biggest hit film in Mahesh Babu’s career.”
