Theatrical trailer launch event of All India Star Sridevi starrer ‘Mom’ was held on Friday evening, i.e. on June 23 in Hyderabad. Zee Studio and Boney Kapoor presents ‘Mom’, a Mad Films and Third Eye Productions' film. Starring Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film has been directed by Ravi Udyawar, with music by A R Rahman.
While speaking on the occasion, director K Raghavendra Rao said, “The one and only evergreen heroine who is known to all generations is Sridevi. The journey from child artist to ‘Mom’ is not a simple thing. I am the one and only director who made 24 films with Sridevi. If Sridevi gives her dates, Suresh Babu bankrolls the project and Kona provided the story, I am ready to do silver jubilee film of Sridevi. Generally, people goes to film after knowing the reports. But, people watch Sridevi’s films just because of her presence in the film. Because, everyone knows that it will be hundred present glamorous and she sure adds value to the film with her performance. Now, she is all set to rule the silver screen once again after a long gap through ‘Mom’. I am sure ‘Mom’ will become super hit.”
Star Producer D Suresh Babu said, “My father had made Sridevi’s films ‘Devatha’, ‘Mundadugu’ and ‘Tohfa’ and many more. I learned direction during those films. Boney Kapoor is like my brother. I used to watch all the films made by Boney Kapoor. As Boney Kapoor is presenting the film, we can confirm that ‘Mom’ is a great film. When I would ask him why he is investing huge amount on films, he would answer me that he has the confidence that it will become super hit. He stood as good advisor to me. I am extremely confident that ‘Mom’ will become big hit. Sridevi is a super star and dream girl. I have watched the rushes. She has given excellent performance. Music and cinematography are extraordinary. I am sure the film will be in international standards.”
On this occasion, T Subbarami Reddy said, “Boney Kapoor always makes films in top class. Profits or losses, it doesn’t bothers him. He has made several wonderful films. I wish, ‘Mom’ which has the story penned by Kona Venkat, will become big success in all languages which the film is set to be released. From drop-dead beauty to acting skills, Sridevi has everything. She still looking gorgeous. We all know that how pivotal is mother’s role. Sridevi has played such a wonderful role and she has given excellent performance. I wish the film will become big hit.”
Kona Venkat said, “I believe that god has created Sridevi garu to do ‘Mom’ film. Every time we watch the film, we felt the same emotions. The film was started when we met Boney Kapoor in New York. Boney Kapoor garu cleared that Sridevi accepts to act if and only if the script is impressive. I have narrated him a point from the film and he was very much impressed. Sridevi garu has given life to the role with her wonderful performance. Boney Kapoor garu is a person, who does not compromises in order to get best output. It’s an honour that the film has got wonderful actress like Sridevi, excellent director and producer Boney Kapoor. I am sure Telugu audience will like the film. I can confidently say that Sridevi will win many awards through this film.”
Addressing the gathering, producer Boney Kapoor said, “Talented people have worked for the film. My wife Sridevi is the crux of the film. Without her there will be no ‘Mom’. She has done many roles so far in her career. But her role in ‘Mom’ is totally different and beyond all his roles which she has not done so far in her career.”
The star of the moment Sridevi said, “This is very special day to me. Audience will decide the result of the film. ‘Mom’ has given me quite a good satisfaction to me as an actress. I consider myself lucky that I got a wonderful gift from my husband Boney Kapoor. I am glad that I have worked with a brilliant team like AR Rahman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna and director Ravi and everyone. ‘Mom’ is a simple story which has emotional subject related to Mom and daughter relation. There is nothing as valuable as mother’s love. The film is not just an emotional film, it is loaded with thrilling and suspense elements. I am extremely confident that the film will impress everyone.”
