Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay today condemned abusive and derogatory language against women in the state Assembly in strong terms. His remarks are deemed to be a sly warning to former TN Deputy CM Udayanidhi Stalin, was arrested last month for making allegedly obscene comments on actress Trisha Krishnan.
The Jana Nayagan actor today stated that personal attacks are unacceptable. Vijay asserted that the law will act against anyone insulting women. He also cited an Enforcement Directorate document, alleging the former DMK regime collected 7.5% to 10% in party funds through contracts. In his speech, he also cited pivotal political milestones in the history of Indian politics, including the rise of NTR in then-united Andhra Pradesh and MGR in TN.
Trisha has been in a relationship with TN CM Vijay, her Ghilli and The GOAT co-star. While their relationship has been politicized, neither has confirmed anything so far. Recently, Trisha wrote a social media post wishing Vijay on his birthday.
